Fee Policy

All professional and medical services must be paid in full at the time services are rendered. 

We accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Debit Cards, and personal checks.

We do not accept CareCredit, American Express, or work with any insurance companies - we always send invoices after paid for you to submit to your insurance provider.


As a pet guardian, you will be held liable for the financial responsibility of services that are performed for each pet. 


Payment is due, in full, at time of service.


Unpaid balances will be recovered as deemed appropriate by The Family Pet Veterinary Hospital management. 

I hereby authorize the veterinarian to examine, prescribe for or treat the above-described pet(s). I assume responsibility for all charges incurred in the care of this animal. I also understand that these charges must be paid in full, at the time of release of the pet.

Late, Cancellation, No-Show Policy:

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes appointments need to be missed due to emergencies or other commitments. We ask that you please notify us at least 1 business day (24HR) in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If a cancellation or rescheduling request is made with less than one full business day’s notice, we will respond as follows:


Late: If you are 15 minutes late to an appointment, you will be required to reschedule. Please be aware that our appointments are only scheduled for 30 minutes, and appointments are back to back.

New Patients: We require a deposit equivalent to the cost of the exam due at the time of scheduling. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us with a minimum of one full business day to refund your deposit. Deposit will be forfeited if one full business day's notice is not provided prior to cancelling the appointment. 

Procedures: We require a deposit of 50% of the low end of an estimate, due at the time of scheduling. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us with a minimum of one full business day to refund your deposit. Deposit will be forfeited if one full business day's notice is not provided prior to cancelling the procedure. Exceptions may be made for an emergency.

Missing three appointments (no-shows or late cancellations) within a 6-month period, without providing at least one full business day's notice, may result in discharge from care at The Family Pet.

The Family Pet will send an email to document each no-show or late cancellation. In the event of discharge from care a written notification will be sent along with a complete copy of your records by email.

**Please note that a business day for The Family Pet is between 7:30am and 5:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. This means, for example, that if you have an appointment or procedure scheduled in the morning on a Thursday, you will need to contact us to reschedule or cancel no later than Wednesday by 8am to have your deposit refunded or not incur a late cancel fee. Since we are no longer open on the weekends, a Monday appointment would need to be cancelled or rescheduled by Friday at 8am to have the deposit refunded or not incur a late cancel fee.**

Please respect us, what we do, and understand that if we are verbally abused, harrassed, or you use any other negative behaviors, you/your pet will be discharged from care.
